Kiwanis Meeting - Giving Back In The Community
I was particularly touched by our Kiwanis speaker today, Melanie Morton-Maynard, president of Beauty and Soul located at 190 W Main Street Buford GA 30518. Melanie is clearly passionate about impacting children's lives, specifically girls who would otherwise not be able to have a back-to-school hair cut and basic care supplies. The experience is more than just a haircut, it's about taking pride in themselves. It's about empowering these youngsters to feel beautiful and important. Not only are the girls positively impacted but the mothers are as well. Melanie shared a story about how proud many of the mothers were last year for being able to connect their daughters with such an enriching experience that helps to support a positive self image.
