Fall & Winter Maintenance For Your Honda

We want to help you get your Honda prepared for that chillier weather before it hits. Fall and winter maintenance is exceptionally important because the weather during these seasons can be hard on your car. Plus, we want to make sure your car is in the best condition, so you can catch every football game–whether it’s at the stadium or with your family–and travel throughout the holiday season. Here are a few things you can check off your list of maintenance tasks, and they're pretty easy to do!

Fall And Winter Maintenance For Your Honda

  • Check your brakes and tires. You want to be confident in your tires abilities to get you through tough weather. In the Buford area, it seems like we have just the right temperatures to melt snow and ice mid-day and then everything refreezes at night. It can be tricky to know what to expect, which is why we want to help you keep your car ready for anything. While you’re checking out your tires, go ahead and check out your brakes. It’s the perfect opportunity to ensure they are just as safe as your tires. If this is not something you are comfortable doing yourself, we are happy to help perform these checks at Team Ryan Automotive.
  • Check your battery. As temperatures start to drop, a weak battery isn’t very likely to survive. Be sure to get your battery tested before it gets too cold out to avoid a morning where your car just won’t start. By getting your battery checked now, you will have plenty of time to replace it if need be. If you see any signs of corrosion or loose connections on the battery, you should take your Honda in immediately for service.
  • Examine your oil and air filter. Most Honda owners know the importance of an oil change, and they get them regularly, but we also want to make sure you’re getting your air filters checked out as well. Clean oil and air filters help get air to places in your car that need it the most. At Team Ryan Automotive, we check your oil filter with every oil change service.
  • Turn on your defroster and heater. There’s nothing like a warm car on a cold morning! To ensure that you always climb into a cloud of warmth as you get in your Honda every morning, turn on your defroster and heater now to ensure they’re working. We promise it’ll be worth it when your fingers defrost after the cold trek to your car.
